Iwasaki Draw File

The files used like a draw knife. Unlike traditional rasps that crush and tear wood fibers into dust, Iwasaki files feature tiny, chemically-etched teeth that act like miniature hand planes. This particular line is meant to be drawn toward the user like a drawshave or drawknife. They pare away ultra-thin wood shavings rather than sawdust. The unique tooth design has built-in chip-breakers that force waste material up and away from the file, preventing the teeth from clogging. Because of their cutting action, they leave an incredibly smooth surface finish that requires very little sanding afterward.
